Description
Ndere Island is a small island of just 4,2 km2, just off the northern shores of Lake Victoria in the Vinam Gulf. The island was inhabited by Luo people until it became protected in 1986. Ndere Island is largely covered by savannah grassland scattered with dense woodland patches along its shores (http://www.kws.org/parks/parks_reserves/NINP.html). The butterfly fauna was studied by Lange et al. (2007).Map
